The Fish and chips could have been better. But worth a try.Decor was definitely Brit. They have a British store right there on the premises. Service was not bad. They were definetly friendly

The exterior is a nondescript shopping strip, but don 't be put off by this. the interior is an interesting combo of a shop and a tea shop/fish-n-chips dining area. Not a doily and lace decor. the shop selection ranges from candies such as violet crumble to canned goods such as mushy peas to sodas( squash with flavors of burdock or elder berry and frozen goods such as steak-n-kidney pie. We had fish-n-chips, tea, and scone. A limited yet honest menu--we had fish and chips, tea, and scone with devonshire cream. Each piece of fish was pretty sizable in my opinion. No choice of tea--just an honest english brew. The scone was sizable and we shared it. The ladies who run the place are quite charming.

We decided to check it out and ordered the two-piece fish and chips and an egg and chips, along with a medium pot of what appeared to be ordinary black tea. They didn’t offer any other tea options, so it doesn't claim to be a high tea room. The tea arrived quickly, served in a lovely floral porcelain pot, along with some cream in a small pitcher. Shortly after, our food arrived, piping hot. The plate featured two large pieces of breaded and deep-fried fish, likely cod, accompanied by steak fries, tartar sauce, and ketchup. The fried egg was cooked over medium (they didn’t ask how we wanted it) and came with some fries as well. It was a somewhat unusual meal, in our opinion. The fish was typical for such establishments, cooked in deep oil and lacking flavor, although the batter was crispy and enjoyable. We found the prices surprisingly high for the quality of the food; scones and hot cross buns were priced at $6 and $5 each, which felt quite steep. The total bill came to about $40, which seemed expensive for what we received. We probably won’t return in the future, though the place appears popular and has been around for a while. If we did decide to go back, we agreed we wouldn’t order either of those dishes again.

How can I express this without upsetting anyone in the family? The people who run this charming little shop feel like the family you always wanted. From the moment we sat down, it truly felt like home. The staff was kind, friendly, and attentive, making us feel as if we were being served by our favorite sister, cooked for by our beloved aunt, and cared for by the nurturing mother we all remember from childhood. The food transported me back to a cozy old English pub and restaurant. It was so delicious that I even took some home for the next day! If I could give this place six stars, I absolutely would. Thank you, Vince. P.S. I would like to order two Christmas cakes.
