I’m always on the hunt for a stellar authentic Mexican taco. To be quite Frank, this place even falls short of being a hole in the wall—It’s a trailer. And there’s nothing fancy about it. HOWEVER… If the tastiest and most authentic tacos are your pursuit, this place is a five star hidden gem. Both the al pastor and carne asada hit the spot. Definitely will be back. View all feedback.

Favorite al pastor in the city, just wish they where open more.
It’s been years since the Chicagoland area has had a successor to Wicker Park’s infamous yellow Flinstones taco truck (Tacos Picadiedro, circa 2011-2014). This may be the second coming of that truck that parked on Ashland and Division, that mysteriously went missing. Legend has it the world did not deserve those tacos, and he was forced to leave this planet. The year is now 2021, and Taquizas Morelos has now consistently bunkered down on Armitage and Monticello for the last 12 months (weekends only). The tacos are fantastic and the real reason you come back is for the red and green sauce. They have variety (see menu) at fair prices of 2.50-3 per taco. If you have had the privilege of already trying these tacos, then congratulations! You’ve made it, no need to ever try another place again.
