Was Mark S at Smoque Bbq a mag?
Smoque is a trailblazer and one of the first authentic BBQ's in the city. Luckily, many other BBQ restaurants followed in their path. If you like Carson's Ribs, don't eat here. I prefer the Ribs and Chicken and the salad is not to bad either. I find the brisket dry and overall a great place. View all feedback.

What DMario I dislikes about Smoque Bbq:
Perhaps I went on an off day, but the side dishes lacked any real depth or character. The baked beans were watery and didn't have the rich flavor and texture I'm accustomed to. The mac and cheese was also quite bland. I was really let down since the ribs were fantastic. Overall, while Smoque does serve excellent meats, don't expect the sides to deliver that soulful flavor. BBQ at it's finest, as well as delicious sides and desserts. I drive 25 miles each way to enjoy this food.

Previous visits compelled me to return for some more good barbecue. I got some sliced brisket for a football game and the guests described the meat as so tender they didn't need a knife. It was delicious, with minimal fat and grease. It costs more than at other restaurants, but you get consistently good quality smoked meats here.
