Cute cozy little cafe on Chicago ave. We came on a snowy day and the hearty foods hit the spot. There was just a tad too much potato in my beef stew but flavors were good and beef tender. The rolls were so pillowy we couldn’t stop eating. Ended with a honey walnut cake that was delicious. Service was a bit slow as only 2 people worked there, but otherwise no complaints! Everything here is soooo good, which makes it really hard to decide what to get! I do always have to get a slice of dessert cake, even though I am too full to eat it with my meal. It tastes just as good at home!
I'd like to say a special thanks to Lida for helping me out of a potentially catastrophic situation! She was professional, polite and showed a great amount of care towards me in my time of need when most wouldn't. Thanks again Lida!
Delicious Ukrainian food! The borscht has perfectly balanced flavors, and the 3 layer lemon cheesecake is a marvel. Spotlessly clean rest room too.
Delicious and authentic Ukrainian dishes. We enjoyed the borsch, potato pancakes, and the potato and blueberry vereneki. Definitely recommend!
While the restaurant scene in Chicago sinks to its rock bottom, restaurants like Shokolad still provides solace. The best brunch place in town. So good that we are willing to drive 10 miles on a Saturday morning.
