Yesterday, my wife and I celebrated our anniversary at this restaurant for the first time, and we can't wait to return. I usually don't eat seafood, but the baked oysters and salmon were absolutely amazing. The short ribs were cooked to perfection. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our visit. The drinks were delicious, and our waitress provided excellent recommendations. Overall, I would give... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Wood Water:
I requested salt shakers but didn’t receive any. I ordered a ribeye steak cooked medium, but what I got was an overcooked piece of meat. I always specify medium for my steaks, so I know how they should turn out. The waitress insisted that it was cooked properly, and the manager supported her. When I clarified that I asked for medium, they agreed to cook another one for me. While the second steak had the right donenes... View all feedback.
Our entrees and cocktails were okay. I had the gnocchi, but the sauce was somewhat sour and overly liquidy, especially given that it was advertised as a ricotta cream sauce. My partner had the fried chicken, which was a generous portion and quite tasty. The atmosphere was really loud and busy, which seemed to stress out the servers. As a result, we barely saw our server and waited quite a while for water. Everything felt a bit tense and frantic. I would be open to giving Wood Water another chance to see if our experience was an anomaly. However, I don't believe that a busy night should heavily compromise food quality like that.
We dined with friends at Wood Water last night (Saturday). The ambiance was modern, upscale, and enjoyable. Service was great--the hostess was very friendly and our waitress was super attentive and friendly. We were not very impressed by the food. It's a creative menu but the taste was not that great. With that said-ingredients were high quality -we just did not appreciate the flavor of any of our dishes.
Was looking for a place to take the MIL for a relaxing dinner in the valley, amazingly she hadn't been here! Loved the decor and ambiance, really set the perfect mood and felt like a getaway. We ordered the octopus and spicy tuna appetizer, both a good size portion. The MIL doesn't usually like spicy but she thought it was perfectly spiced. The octopus was tender, and the croquettes were pillowy goodness! Our server suggested the mezcal cocktail for me, I wouldn't have ordered it since I usually like more spirit forward but it was refreshing and delicious! The only complaint was that my pork chop was overcooked, more medium well than medium but still good enough. Overall, a pleasant experience, good service ambiance and food.
Very nice but pricey restaurant, good atmosphere, nice staff. Food was really good although the lamb was not medium rare as we ordered. It was more like well done. Sea bass was very good and the dark chocolate matcha cake is amazing. I used Google maps to make a reservation and they could not find it which was embarrassing. This is not the first time this happened with different restaurants after reserving on Google maps so be sure to call them directly.
Snagged a last minute reservation here to participate in dine LA week. We got two orders of the pre fixe menu and shared everything. I recommend the winners as the old fashioned, cauliflower duo (even though my partner didn't like it), beef Wellington and chocolate matcha. Overall, Chris was great. We had a lovely Saturday date night here! I didn't love the honey polenta cake (even though I really wanted to)! Cocktails: Mexican flowering squad and an old fashionedApps: cauliflower duo and lobster Mac and cheese Mains: deconstructed beef Wellington and Scottish salmon Dessert: chocolate matcha cake and honey polenta cake
