We have been going to Seito when he owned 4 on 6 and Sushi Note is no exception! Sushi Note is our go-to date night spot and constantly impressed with the food*, service, and ambiance the restaurant provides. You will not be disappointed! *I should note that this place does not offer the Americanized rolls with cream cheese or spicy mayo. They offer the freshest fish and it is what truly shines at this sushi spot. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Sushi Note:
I wanted so bad to like Sushi Note! I have heard so many good things about it. I am quite a foodie though and will say that unfortunately it wasn’t worth it. Yes— the fish is fresh, but ultimately it is overpriced, the portions are small, and I wasn’t blown away. That said, our waitress was lovely! As a foodie, it is a place you come once to try and never return. We left hungry and poor. If someone can please explain... View all feedback.
I went for the Whole Note and the Cellar level wine pairing. Overall, most of the sushi was quite good, especially the toro course, which was outstanding. However, many of the other dishes were underwhelming. The wine pairing left much to be desired. My server and sommelier, Harrison, was not very attentive; I noticed the chef trying to get his attention at each course to serve me. I sat at the bar and overheard Harrison expressing his confusion about what to pair with the dishes. Although I was told about the cellar level, it felt like I paid extra but received a lower-tier tasting experience instead. There were definitely more interesting wine options and pairings that could have been offered. In hindsight, I would have preferred to just have some sake instead. The rest of the staff were pleasant and seemed to share my frustration with Harrison’s poor performance. I initially thought he might be new and in training, but it turns out he has been there for years. Overall, I probably won’t return, as there are better sushi options available in the valley.
There is metered street parking available on Ventura Blvd until 8 PM. The service was fantastic from beginning to end.
One of the best sushi restaurants in Southern California. The dishes are of top quality, the servers and chefs are wonderful, and the atmosphere is fantastic. Plus, the prices are reasonable.
Great Sushi restaurant. Staff were very good. Food was amazing. Nice vibe. I’ll be back next trip to LA.
Some of the rolls are somewhat uninspired deep fried novelties, but the soft shell crab roll and the baked mussels are awesome!
