I recently stopped by Brew for breakfast after arriving at the train station. Located conveniently for rail travelers just down the road from the town center, Brew is a charming independent café with outdoor seating. It appeared to be run by a young East Asian couple. I ordered a much-needed cup of tea while waiting for my breakfast, which was cooked from scratch – a promising sign. I could watch the chef preparing my meal from my seat near the entrance. To my surprise, the breakfast was excellent, exceeding my expectations for a café. It included two perfectly poached eggs on high-quality Sourdough toast, two substantial butcher's sausages, a generous serving of smashed avocado, and a side of greens. It was delicious and just what I needed to start my day off right. Bravo to the team at Brew for a fantastic meal!
We stopped by for lunch and observed that, although there were many empty tables, none of them had been cleared yet. Despite being quite busy, we took matters into our own hands and cleared our own table. The food took a while to arrive, but it was delicious. It seems like the restaurant is understaffed, as it appears that they are either short-handed or trying to manage with just two people. Based on others' comments over the years, it seems like the latter is a recurring issue.
The breakfast at this restaurant is absolutely delightful, with a burst of delicious flavors. They have a great variety of options for vegans and vegetarians as well. The selection of drinks is fantastic, and the coffee is top-notch!
Breakfast before a long walk. Filled the spot and coffee was smooth. Highly recommend a visit. Staff helpful and friendly.
We had the best breakfast (bacon waffle and bacon and fruit on eggy sourdough), fresh juices and coffee. Very friendly and good service. Highly recommend!
