Aref greeted me at the check in and remembered me from prior stays. I went to the upstairs bar for a. Glass of wine and the bartender said “welcome back” !! It’s a great spot and the staff are the best in the business and make u feel very comfortable for a high end resort. View all feedback.
What Janice Canfield doesn't like about Sunset Beach:
The service is sub par, the food is sooooo overpriced, cheaper food at better fine dining experiences. I live in East Hampton and usually never write a bad review. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. This place does not care about repeat customers. The staff argued with me. The waiter spilled our wine when serving it. My son's lamb was dry when he asked for medium rare. The whole experience was AWFUL. Walkability: the beach is... View all feedback.

The team works super hard! They really could be very rude and full of arrogance, but they aren’t, which is such a blessing.
Seductive, laid back beach motel. Sunset Beach resort is the perfect city escape on sleepy Shelter Island. Pristine, white sand beach with gorgeous sunsets. 20 motel rooms, decorated with a laid back Scandi “beach shack” vibe. Each room has a private terrace with waterviews. Spotless, large, simple rooms complete with a sitting area, king bed euro style shower. Staff is great, especially Nejla, who helped us re-schedule a long weekend originally booked for Memorial Day. Rooms: Comfy, simple design with the basics. This is not a 5 star hotel, it’s a 3 star beach motel. The rooms are all about no- fuss relaxation. Nearby activities: Beach across street- all guests have access to complimentary Umbrella Euro loungers. Pristine white sand calm waters. Food drinks: Buzzy French bistro classics with east coast summer staples. Great vibe- French House music mixed with dance classics- they know what they are doing with the crowd. Make reservations to avoid long waits… this is the place on the Island to see be seen.
