The prices were very reasonable, and the atmosphere was clean and quiet. I highly recommend giving this place a try!

First, I want to highlight that the waitstaff was excellent; they were not at fault... read more I have to share my experience with the manager at Crouse’s Cafe in Shelocta. First, I want to highlight that the waitstaff was excellent; they were not at fault for what happened. Kevin and I both ordered soup but requested a small taste first to ensure it wasn't too spicy. It was good, so we ordered the soup we had sampled. However, we were charged an additional dollar for the two tasting spoons. What? Then, when I asked for my Pepsi refill to be served in a cup because I didn’t want to waste it if I couldn’t finish it, the manager instructed the waitress to charge me $2.49 for that refill. What? I was honestly outraged. I ended up being charged $4.98 for a drink and a refill. This is nothing but greed, and I can confidently say we will never be returning to this establishment again.
