During our holiday, my husband and I visited this restaurant that we had been to many years ago. The pub hadn't changed at all, it felt like we were stepping back in time. The piano player even stopped playing as soon as we walked in. View all feedback.
The food at this restaurant was cold and burnt, clearly indicating a lack of care from the chef. We were even served burnt toast on top of all the other cold dishes. It's baffling why the staff didn't return the food to the kitchen. Just take a look at the photo - it's clear that this kind of food should never be served.
My husband and I recently visited the best Wetherspoons location we have ever been to. The restaurant was clean, with friendly and helpful staff, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. I have a hearing impairment and requested a receipt, but accidentally walked away without it. The manager went above and beyond by bringing it to our table and explaining that they do not give receipts to be environmentally friendly. I commended this initiative, as my husband and I are passionate about recycling. The manager also mentioned that they collect rainwater to water the plants on the restaurant grounds. It was impressive to see him working hard cleaning tables while engaging with us. This exemplary Wetherspoons in Chapeltown, South Yorkshire truly sets a high standard for others to follow. Well done to the manager and the entire team!

Came here on a hot evening and sat outside with a good view out onto Millhouses Park. Very friendly and helpful staff, and a decent range of ales on draught. Food a bit on the stodgy side eg the flatbreads with confit garlic: appealing idea but too much bread! The mezze plate was the same, with tasty hummus and grilled/roasted veg, but definitely too much flatbread, and the olives though enormous weren’t particularly tasty. Jenny was happy with her chicken and skinny fries though, and I’d have been much happier if the Sag Aloo pie I really wanted hadn’t been off. The cheese jalapeño and sweetcorn fritters I had as part of an alternative were definitely too heavy and I wished I’d had a big fresh salad. As pub food often goes this wasn’t a bad meal though just need to change my expectations.
Been here so many time cannot fault it, bar staff are super friendly atmosphere is brilliant, I’ve made so many new connections with people inside this establishment best decision I ever made was to come here
