The Steel Foundry - Sheffield

This pub is located in the food hall near the cinema and has a functional atmosphere. It reminded me of being in a soulless airport bar, similar to a Wetherspoons but without the luggage.

The food was awful, it was dry from being left under a heat lamp. The cutlery was dirty, even after getting a second set. I had to end up eating my meal with my fingers. Some of the staff were okay, though they were clearly busy.

I visited the restaurant just after noon and found it to be busy, making it difficult to get a table. My wife was craving the BBQ chicken melt, but unfortunately, it was not available on the menu. Surprisingly, there were no grilled items on the menu at all. We left feeling disappointed.

Went in after shopping so after 9pm. Ordered chips, coleslaw a side salad and a drink. Side salad £2.10 on eating it i realised it was all lettuce leaves with a tiny bit of red onion, no cucumber or tomato. Obviously they had run out. So basically it cost £2.10 for a bowl of salad leaves, why not just take it off the menu?!

Absolutely shocking food!!! We ordered via the app and our food came out and was taken to 2 different tables before we ended up flagging the member of staff down and advising it was ours. We ordered 4 meals in total and the bill came to just under £60. We waiting over 40 mins for our food and when they came out the burgers were literally like charcoal!!! We ordered 2 of the Empire state burgers with drinks which were more expensive than my local weatherspoons not sure why . There were probably a small handful of chips that were cold on both meals too. I took the 2 meals back to the bar to which i saw a guy cleaning tables and i asked what we should do about an issue with the food. He just said ill take them back and ask for you. I was then left for about 20 mins just stood at the bar waiting for a response and in the end i did speak to one of the team leaders after I was stood waiting for a response from the member of staff who took my food. We had just finished a 10 hour shift, drove from Doncaster to medowhall took our daughters shopping and just wanted some nice food and i can honestly say it was the worse food id ever had in any weatherspoons I've ever been in. How the chef thought it was acceptable then to return back to the table to the other burger that we ordered for one of the teens again was literally like charcoal. I wish now i had taken pictures of the 2 empire burgers and the other burger because when i emailed to complain i pretty much got told that if i had an issue i should of taken it up whilst i was in the restaurant and i did but after being stood for so long and being absolutely starving we had had enough we spent £60 in total and it wasn't great in any areas!!! Needless to say i wont be going back
