I loved this pub, it has a very welcoming feeling, and there is a beautiful fireplace in the middle of the room. Bar staff are very friendly, and eating was very delicious. all in all a first-class experience and in a beautiful opposite of sheffield, I will return definitiw. View all feedback.
What poppyplum doesn't like about The Sportsman:
This is the nearest pub to where I live but don't use it very often. Decided to give it another go, only to be disappointed...again. Ordered same 2 drinks three times.....with three different prices !! How hard can it be, there are buttons to press on the till, staff don't even have to add up. Excellent pub, perfect for a walk in the peaks. good selection of beer, open fires and dog friendly. eating is also great. we had some chicken wings with hot sauce and share afteros. both were fantastic, the wings were some of the best I ever had. the bar staff are nice to round it off. highly recommended!
The staff was very friendly, polite and helpful. eating for the funeral was really something else. it was also very well thought when they refilled the food during the whole time, so it was not just sitting on the table. it was very clean and very welcoming. the personal here is a real credit to the sportsman and I would highly recommend it.
Excellent customer service by jo and kat could not do enough for us! jo made me and my family felt welcome when we went through the door! thank you, ladys! the eating was also amazing and generous portions! we will try again in the near future
Beautiful sunset seating on the rear parking lot, the big trees make it feel and sound surprisingly quiet and quiet, but then we have the whole terrace for ourselves for our weekday dinner in the mai! I had a cheese, ham and pimple sandwich with scratches and salad. it was the ground factory that made brot with slightly grown crusts, but it was a perfectly good if very common sandwich lunch. the personal was very nice. I think Tuesday could be a special lunch offer day for oaps, as there was enough.
Had a quick stop here for a soft drink, nice pub. Plenty of outdoor seating. The kitchen smelt great... Sadly not enough time to stay!
