Tucked away in a bustling locale, The Milestone is a delightful pub that offers a stunning blend of delicious food, including excellent vegetarian and vegan options, and a vibrant atmosphere. Patrons rave about the quality of the fish and chips, while live music and karaoke transform evenings into lively events. The friendly staff, led by the welcoming owners, ensure a cozy experience that keeps visitors returning. With its charming ambiance, this establishment stands out as a fantastic venue for both relaxation and entertainment, making it a must-visit for locals and visitors alike.

A lovely little pub to stop by for a bite to eat and a pint after shopping. In the evenings, they offer live music, karaoke, and other entertainment. Hats off to Karlos and his team for their great work!

My partner and I used to drive here regularly on Saturday evenings because they featured some fantastic artists. Unfortunately, the pandemic hit, and this is only our second visit since then. While we were there, we ran into some family members who frequent the place and rave about the fish and chips. We all decided to try them, and they did not disappoint—delicious! Overall, great food and wonderful staff. It's definitely one of the best!

This place is more beautiful and has a more authentic pub atmosphere compared to others nearby. The food options are great, and their vegetarian and vegan offerings are better than most pubs, including Wetherspoons.

This is a large, unremarkable pub that offers the same typical fare as countless others—standard food and drinks. There's really nothing special about it. It attracts a diverse crowd due to its location near the shopping center, which brings in both younger and older patrons, while in the evenings, it generally sees a more local clientele. I would recommend heading to the Gypsy Queen on the opposite side of the shopping center instead.

We made our way over to The Milestone, and I admit I may have judged it too quickly based on a sign advertising a £4.99 daily carvery. At one point, I even asked Mr. Snarky if he wanted to consider another place. The pub was bustling, situated conveniently next to the shopping center and the bus station, with a bit of outdoor seating facing the bus station and plenty of seating inside. It was full of character, not to mention the regulars popping in for a pint. The menu isn’t extensive, but you can certainly grab a meal for under £10—some options even fall below £5. With this in mind, I didn’t have high expectations for my meal; I just wanted something to tide me over until dinner. I chose the Carvery Sandwich, which came filled with meats from the carvery in a bap (which they called a bread cake), some stuffing, roast potatoes, a Yorkshire Pudding, and gravy. Mr. Snarky opted for Bangers and Mash. Our total with two large sodas was just £11. As we sat, we observed that it was a popular spot for shoppers—some enjoying a cup of tea while others stopped for slushies. The staff seemed to know many of the patrons well but were equally friendly to newcomers like us. Our food arrived in good time, and we were surprised by the portion sizes and the presentation! While it might not be gourmet cuisine, we both enjoyed our meals. I went for the mixed meats from the carvery that day—pork and turkey, both generous servings. The gravy was delightful, and the Yorkshire Pudding was tasty, although one side looked slightly burnt. I wasn’t a big fan of the stuffing, and the roasties could have been crispier, but they were a nice alternative to chips. I can't speak for the drinks, but their selection of lager and ale looked impressive. While it may not be a gastropub, the dishes we saw being served—including Fish and Chips, Scampi, and Carvery dinners—looked appealing, and our meals were satisfying. I’d categorize this place as cheap and cheerful—and very convenient. Overall, it was a pleasant surprise!
