Had a lovely meal at the sword dancer. The big plate chicken sandwich really was BIG! Our server Hope boxed it up for me to take home. She was so helpful Service was excellent and food delicious. Same time next week

So I visited for my nannans birthday, she's in a care home for dementia, which meant it was really special. I came with my mum dad, auntie's uncles, nannan grandad and other extended family. I can't speak about everyone's food but me and my dad had the classic chicken New Yorker and my mum had the 8 ounce sirloin steak with a baked potato. For mine and my dads it was delicious, the chicken was so soft and tender the best chicken I've ever eaten and the fried were fantastic, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. My mum loved her steak, she said it was so easy to cut through. Everything was great. I know that no one had any complaints. I also want to mention that my nannan and grandad had kids meals my grandad has terminal lung cancer and I thought it was great that they allowed them to have kids meals as not all places would. I also appreciated that they brought all the food out at the same time, it did take longer but I'm glad they did. Will definitely be coming back soon!

The staff is extremely polite and periodically checked in during lunchtime to ensure everything was satisfactory. The meals were well-cooked and served at the perfect temperature. If I were a child again, I would have licked the plate clean! It’s definitely worth a visit.

We are not proper pub people. However we do like to come here every time we want to celebrate something or to offer to our guest or to our kids some typical English food. Portions are generous, prices affordable, especially for the quality. As usually the staff make the difference: motivated and nice people. We do like this place.

Great meal as usual. Staff brilliant. Really friendly. Mini mixed grill. 5.50. Can't beat that.
