We go to Rivelin Valley most Sundays for a walk and always stop at the cafe for brunch. The bacon rolls are lovely, the bacon is always well done and in large granary rolls (although some butter would be good... , good chips and our coffee and tea are always good. They even cook a sausage and cut it up for the dog, which she appreciates very much! It can get very busy so sometimes there's a bit of a wait, but that's... View all feedback.
What Quest17185980993 doesn't like about Rivelin Park Cafe:
I called in for a hot dog a bit off hand as soon as I walked in. Asked for a hot sausage role to take out but she licked her fingers to get the wrapping paper. I said no thanks and I walked out. Unbelievable standard when some people like me are at risk of infection. View all feedback.

Lovely cosy and clean cafe with log burner. Good food with great choice of things to eat, very good value and friendly staff. Thank you.
Lovel setting. Best scones in the city. Just had one straight out of the oven. They are made on the premises Friendly and welcoming
Visited today (26.09.23) with a group of friends and was hugely disappointed by the service at the cafe. The lady (more senior lady with tattoos) who took my order was ‘off’ for no apparent reason, just seemed quite cold when I was being pleasant. The food was ok, cheese and ham toastie and coffee was expensive for what it was. Unfortunately there was a very rude man smoking next to me and my friends on the patio area, we were all with small children so I politely asked if he could move to another area to smoke and he was extremely rude and eventually went inside the cafe after being extremely offensive. One of my friends pointed out that there was a no smoking sign on the patio which he had blatantly missed. The manager type lady came out and in an accusatory voice said we had been rude to the man in question- not asking us what had happened or following up with talking to the man about their policy of no smoking! It would have been nice for her to listen to what had happen without speaking to us in such a rude manner. Will not be returning any time soon. To say she works in a customer facing role, she needs to really brush up on her customer service skills!
We both opted for cheese on toast at a cost of £4 per portion and we given the choice of white or granary; both choosing granary we sat outside and waited. After about 6 or 7 minutes we were presented with 2 (small) polystyrene boxes. Each box contained ONE slice (bearing in mind it was FOUR POUNDS) of very sweaty food. The toast using the term very loosely was, if at all, given the VERY briefest of introductions to the grill before having a cheese topping and returned to the heat until it had just about melted then cut into quarters and squashed into the polystyrene container. Having said that, the cheese was admittedly mildly tasty, it just nowhere near worth the money. If you do decide to eat here, make sure you choose something that (a) has been cooked properly (b) value for money. Left feeling very disappointed ... though the dogs didn 't as they had a fair bit of it as neither of us found it enjoyable.
