Beautiful atmospere, quite taverna like, but the service is shocking bad. admittedly we went as a large group of twelve or so, but we had made this clear when we had booked. the courses arrived in he phase, some people were waiting for the starters while others were halfway through their main thing. many of the courts looked like they kept warm under a hot lamp, or in many cases for one. I am ashamed that I have not written a review for this restaurant sooner, considering how long I have been a customer. I have had many memorable experiences here, such as a romantic meal when my husband proposed, a lovely meal with my Mom to celebrate my late Dad's birthday, and numerous other visits over the years. The food is absolutely wonderful, made with fresh ingredients, and always served with a smile. My family and friends have tried everything on the menu and I highly recommend it all. The owner makes a point to personally speak to every guest and ensure they are happy with their experience. The staff, although I'm not sure if they recognize me, have a way of making everyone feel incredibly welcome. The customer service at La Scala is truly outstanding and unmatched in Sheffield. If I could give this restaurant more stars, I would. it is a truly special place.

The food and service at this restaurant are consistently exceptional and continue to improve with each visit. The ambiance and decor provide a truly authentic Italian experience.

I went to this restaurant to celebrate my partner's birthday with a party of five. We were seated downstairs, although I would have preferred to be upstairs. We always seem to be seated downstairs, so I assume they cannot accommodate larger parties upstairs. I ordered a caprese salad, steak medallions, and profiteroles. The salad was delicious and the profiteroles were delectable. I had requested my steak to be cooked medium-well, but it seemed more on the medium-rare side to me. The vegetables that came with the steak were incredibly tasty. The staff were friendly and helpful, although we had to remind them a couple of times for more drinks as they seemed to forget. Despite this, we have visited the restaurant many times and will definitely be returning again.

Since lockdown ended we have become regulars here, the food is good prices reasonable and everyone is so friendly. Sometimes we go with extended family, wheel chair access is good downstairs (but carpark can be slightly awkward) and nothing is too much trouble. The music choice can be a little eclectic at times but we always leave with full tums and smiles
