Fox And Hounds - Sheffield

I understand that going for a budget carvery meal (£3.50) can sometimes be hit or miss, but unfortunately, the food at this restaurant was disappointing. There were only two meat choices instead of the promised three, both sliced with an electric knife which seemed inappropriate. The vegetables, including tinned peas, cauliflower, boiled carrots, and potatoes, were all sitting in water. The Yorkshire puddings were probably store-bought, and the roast potatoes were decent. The ambiance was nice, and the staff were okay, but I don't think we'll be returning to this restaurant.

We live close to this pub and brought our dog with us. We made a reservation through Facebook Messenger, and the team provided a top-notch response. The menu offers a variety of traditional pub dishes, with both hearty and lighter options. I tried the Signature burger, while the kids had burgers and Fish and Chips. The portions were just right - filling but not too much. The wine and hand-pulled beers were well-kept and enjoyable. Overall, it was a great meal with excellent service.

This restaurant offers a delicious carvery with home-cooked meals at very reasonable prices. There is plenty of seating available, but be prepared for some noise, especially when there is a football game on.

From Australia, my husband and I were taken here for Sunday Lunch by locals from Sheffield.. Superb traditional country Inn for delicious traditional Yorkshire fare! Roast beef and pudding to DIE for, with splendid greens we had been sorely missing.. An absolute TREAT!! Treat yourselves!!
