Although we had a great time and we would go back the waiting time from when we arrived at 5.15pm to when we were served at 6.15 was too long . The starters arrived and the main course within minutes after. We then ordered 1 brownie dessert which took half hour. There was a large party in at the time so this could have been the proble. Horrid experience. mix with our order, no apology, not corrected, long wait to pay our bill, although we were the only table in the restaurant. probably the most expensive restaurant in the west street I was too and yet the worst service. there are others in others sharing from sheffield center of the same price that are 1000 times better. Unfortunately we were not able to visit our meal and enjoy how the restaurant phoned to cancel our booking saying that a private rental had taken over the whole restaurant. this was extremely disappointing, as this was a Christmas trip and a very bad form of the restaurant.
We waited very long for eating (about an hour for the appetizers and then another 25-30 minutes for the main thing). eating was really good.
Everything about this place from the welcome, the atmosphere (including decor and music), the service and the food where A . One of my new favourite places. Thank you for an amazing first time experience! Highly recommend!
Unfortunately, we did not enjoy the experience at BEJU as it was over rated and the restaurant was trying to reach a 5 star standard it is far from. Myself, my boyfriend and two of our friends were very much looking forward to the food and drinks. It was expensive and I was expecting a better service from the staff. We were sat at the bottom of the restaurant where the DJ stand is. This was the main problem of the meal due to the fact, we felt like it was a nightclub and had to literally shout across the table to have a conversation. Several times we asked the staff if we could move up the room if it would make any difference as it wasn’t worth it. The manager would turn down the music and the DJ would turn it back up. Seen as it wasn’t a cheap meal and we wanted the full experience we ordered the starters and then cancelled the mains. It was a shame as if the atmosphere would of been correct, it would of been brilliant. Don’t get me wrong the music choice and playlist were top tier but I came out with an headache. After the staff apologised to us plenty of times we found it more frustrating as they were not solving the situation. By the end of the meal which were only starters, I asked for a reduction of the receipt. They took off the service charge which is optional anyways. By all means come for cocktails and nibbles but we will certainly not be returning.
