We drove 40 minutes to eat here and it did not disappoint! The cook was very accommodating and made me something not really on the menu but similar...... bow tie pasta with peas in tomato cream sauce. It was amazing! My husband had the lobster stuffed ravioli with grilled shrimp in tomato cream sauce. He loved it. Our waitress was great as well. We will be back. Thank you for a wonderful meal. View all feedback.

Great food and super reasonable. Had ribeye, chicken marsala, white fish all were delicious.
The meal was great and the service was excellent. Cafe 129 wasn't your basic cafe. The chef made himself with the chicken marsala and the scallops with mango salsa and sea snails. If you're in Sheffield IL, it's worth it.
ZBest Lives!! Not sure why there isn't a listing, but the chef still owns Cafe 129, still located in the same storefront. This is not small-town eats. Chef could open an establishment in Chicago's or Bucktown and not stand out. Ingredients are impeccable, flavors are clearly designed and dishes are never just repeats of comfort foods.
Definitely will go back and try more items on the menu!
