I'll be coming back here again. This place had great tasting food and decently priced. The service was helpful and relatively quick. Beer selection was good too, a few local beers on tap which is always welcomed. The chicken dish was super flavorful; savory and that sauce mixed with the rice was awesome. The pork was not dry and had a great taste. Loved the chicharrones as well. It was all a hit!
Still outstanding! I get something different each time I go and it's always delicious. *Below was from before May 2024, above is new visit 5/2/2024 Outstanding! The type of place that needs 6 stars imo. Great people who are passionate about creating the best dishes. I had the empanadas and the roast pork rice bowl add an over easy egg on top. So delicious. And had a nice conversation with several of the staff, and got to try a little house made pancetta. Jeez. Cons: their hours can be wonky for some that may try to come visit from outside the area, but I think those are even more standard now compared to just a few months ago. Call before you head down even if Google maps says they are open. Parking is a little tricky, but park off the side street that's just north of the restaurant off Edgewood. But ignore my cons because the food and friendly people are well worth multiple visits. I started eating before taking pics, sorry about that lol.
I went with my wife during a hunt for something other than the same ol', same ol' that's so difficult to avoid. We was immediately greeted upon arrival. Our server was personable and friendly. We order a couple sandwiches (chicken and pork) and a couple beers. My beer was a local brew. We got our food quick. It was fresh and delicious. The product was all good quality, prepared and assembled with obvious attention. We even got house-made plantain chips on the side. The meals were filling and very satisfying! Out the door, two sandwiches and two beers and tip for $34.19. Excellent food and value. While I've seen stellar operations go south with fame, I cannot help but recommend Chancho King. You should definitely give them a try. This is my favorite spot to eat in Murray Hill.
