Holiday Inn Express Suites Shamrock North

Though the restaurant is currently undergoing renovations, the overall atmosphere feels outdated and worn. My non-smoking room had a lingering smell of smoke from years past. The room, designated as barrier-free, was not up to standards. The gym was dimly lit, humid, and had outdated equipment. The bathroom had harsh white lighting and there were visible stains on the carpet. Despite these drawbacks, the Wi-Fi was reliable, the bed was clean and comfortable, the room was peaceful and dark, and the staff at the front desk were friendly and accommodating.

After comparing this Holiday Inn Express with others in the chain, I found that it falls short in several areas. The negatives include the outdated and tired appearance of the room, which had a faint smell of smoke despite being labeled as non-smoking. The carpet had numerous stains and the bathroom lacked accessibility features. The lighting throughout the hotel was harsh and fluorescent. The gym was small, dimly lit, and had outdated equipment. Additionally, there was no coffee available upon my arrival. On the positive side, the bed linens were clean, the bed was comfortable, the hotel was quiet, the staff was pleasant, and the price was reasonable. Despite the fact that the hotel had been renovated, my experience did not match up to expectations.

The check-in process was friendly, but the hotel is under construction which was not a major issue for us. However, we were disappointed to find our room was dirty. The bed linen was soiled, there were stains of blood and urine on the floor, and the tub was also unclean. It was very late, so we only grabbed a towel and cleaned the best we could. In addition, someone attempted to enter our room without success and later the receptionist came in unannounced, forgetting which room she had assigned to us. She explained that there was a mix-up due to a computer error and was apologetic as she rearranged our room. It is clear that this hotel requires more attention. The housekeeping services need to be improved, and the computer system should be fixed to prevent unauthorized access to guest rooms.

The kerl at the reception was very friendly and professional. the check-in was easy. the bath was dirty and there was no shampoo, etc. not so much because we brought ourselves. was that the security gap was gone. over all a “okay” place to sleep after a long journey.
