Stopped in off the highway and was pleasantly surprised! They had chicken and dumplings as a special for the very cold day and it was just like my mom’s. The fried okra was crispy not soggy, and the homemade cookies were a nice touch. If you’re traveling this is a great place to stop. They were very quick as well and even have a drive through. I'm on a road trip and stopped for the night in this small town because it had a Best Western Plus. I was told Hasty's across the street was good. I guess that's a relative term. It's more like a non-franchise fast food place. Plastic booths, order at the counter and pay. Food comes on a styrofoam plate with a plastic fork. It was a chicken strip bacon ranch salad. Chopped iceberg lettuce, bacon bits, a sliced boiled egg and cut up fried chicken strips. The ranch dressing came separate in a small plastic container. The dressing was thick and very good. Chicken was good. But the overall experience was mediocre. And yet I shelled out $14. Maybe worth half the price paid.
