Absolutely excellent. I’m from The Deep South, so I know good seafood. I had almost given up on finding decent seafood in the area. Everywhere else we tried was awful. My boss took me here for lunch one day and I have been back several times. The food and service are both excellent, and the prices are fair. The owner is a super nice guy who knows what seafood should taste like. I highly recommend Paw Paw’s View all feedback.
What S S doesn't like about Pawpaw's Catfish Kitchen:
Catfish was great but when it came to dessert it was lacking. Hardly any pecans on pecan pie. So if you get anything to go just check it first. Staff was amazing but expensive food. Will add 3 percent to your bill if you use credit card so that will keepme from going back. View all feedback.
Had the boudin balls and catfish. The catfish was probably the best I've had in Tennessee. Loved the atmosphere, reminded me of all my time working in South Louisiana.
I am so glad I stopped by this restaurant. I ordered a grilled fish (Acadiana) I think. It exceeded my expectations. It was awesome! Just the prefect texture and taste. The portion was perfect. I also loved their chocolate cake. I definitely recommend this place if you are looking for some nice authentic seafood.
Very nice and clean place! The employees were all kind. All of the food was delicious!Glad I heard about them in the fb groups so our family could go try a new place. We will recommend you to others, and we will visit again on future trips! If you're reading this, be sure you get yourself the bread pudding for a dessert!
We had driven past PawPaw’s several times this week and kept saying we should give it a try. So today we finally did and we are so happy we did. Five of us dropped in around 2:00 pm.The building and dining room is rustic, so it makes sense for this Louisiana country style fare. The server was really prompt and friendly. Everyone ordered various combinations of catfish and/or shrimp dinners. Here are the highlights:The batter on the catfish and shrimp was great—lightly coated, nicely seasoned and fried just enough. The french fries were hot, crispy, well seasoned and a fantastic alternative to a McDonald’s bag of short, stubby fries. The only downside side was that the combination platters only had two hush puppies and the smaller entrees only had one. The hush puppies were so good we ALL wanted more! Fried just long enough. Really tasty with just enough corn kernels in the batter. This place reinforces our approach of trying to find out where the locals eat wherever we go. If we get back to Pigeon Forge, we will be back. I definitely want to try the gumbo and desserts.
The service was great and very friendly. The place is absolutely clean! We tried the catfish platter and gator bites . The gator bites were delicious!!Their sauces were all soo good! The coleslaw was super fresh! The bread pudding is a must!!! Will be back on my next trip. Had to try it because my husband kept bragging about it from his last trip.
