This charming little pub is nestled in the picturesque hamlet of Underriver. The food is excellent and reasonably priced. The atmosphere is delightful, and the service is friendly. We even took a photo with the Queen (a cardboard cutout, courtesy of the ladies) during this wonderful festive anniversary week—what a memorable keepsake! View all feedback.
What GARETH HUGHES doesn't like about The White Rock Inn:
It's OK as per my review assessment. The starter was disappointing though, a slither of pate, litreally, and no butter served with it either. Soup was also a tad cold and again no butter for the stale clump of bread it was served with. Mains okish, a tad bland by all accounts, but nothing to rave about. I'm afraid it has a rather high opinion of itself, which is slightly detached from reality coupled with the rather... View all feedback.
Very nice restaurant bar. revitalized and eating looked good. we had only one drink after a walk, but would eat again
We made a last minute family booking for 9, including 4 children aged from 4 9, for a Sunday. We were really impressed with how well we were accommodated. The children's menu had plenty of choice for the smalls, and they loved their ice creams that came with a toy to take away. I had the vegan roast, which may possibly be the best one I have tried to date. I was given the option of still having the non vegan friendly gravy, Yorkshires and parsnips, which I was very grateful for as a flexiterian I love gravy! The only thing that could have improved the experience was a vegan friendly option for these. They were busy, so service was a tad slow, but to be expected on a busy Sunday. All in all, a good experience and we would definitely return.
Just stumbled across this pub on a walk. Excellent food and service. Gorgeous location. And big bonus was how welcome they made our dog Drinks and biscuits for the whippet! The vegan chocolate tart was truly delicious
Decent pub and will be returning. After a long muddy walk from Leigh, we stopped off here for well deserved steak baguette and one falafel. Menu had plenty of other options along with vegan ones. Very responsibly priced.
First time to White Rocks Inn today. Booked for Sunday lunch and was not disappointed! First impressions were excellent. Charming proper inn (dog friendly nice touch) and very friendly greeting by staff. Shown to what we thought was the best table in the house, number 9. Looking out across the fields and sat by a lovely warm radiator just perfect. The lunch could not be faulted. Generous portions of lovely home cooked food. Yum! Service was impeccable and staff all so friendly. Will most definitely revisit. Thanks for a very pleasant couple of hours.
