I finally went back today and was pleased to find it empty on a bank holiday Monday for brunch. Unfortunately, the quality of the food was just average and our order was not quite correct, although we were slightly overcharged on the bill. There was no butter with the toast and no offer of condiments. The coffee was good and the staff were pleasant, but the service was only average. The prices were already high, but considering the location, they could have been acceptable with better quality food. What I found unacceptable was the 12% gratuity added to the bill. In summary, it was an overpriced, average cafe brunch in a great location. In my opinion, it could have been packed on a sunny bank holiday morning if the food had been better.

The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the relaxing jazz music in the background creates a great atmosphere. Definitely deserving of a 5-star rating.

However, I am only giving it three stars because they automatically add a 12% tip to the bill, which you have to ask to remove. Any restaurant that does this loses two stars in my opinion. This practice is not common in the United States, so they should stop doing it.

But the boudin noir listed on french breakfast was normal commercially available british black pudding and not real the genuine item.
