I visited the restaurant last week with a friend and ordered a $10 brown rice sushi box along with a salmon box. The brown rice sushi was topped with Japanese mayo and chili sauce, and it came with two fish-shaped soy sauce containers and wasabi. What User dislikes about Slate:
This is a super affordable little sushi spot in the CBD. It's no-frills, primarily focused on takeaway sushi, but the quality is impressively fresh and delicious. They also offer some great deals, including inexpensive bibimbap. View all feedback.

Additionally, I appreciated that card payments came with no extra fees. This is definitely my favorite sushi place in the CBD!

The dining experience here is just average. The lunch bowl portions are extremely small—about two-thirds of what you’d get at the Asian kitchen in Hunter Connection, but the price is 1.5 times higher. I wouldn't recommend it for average-sized men or those with a healthy appetite, as they will likely find the portions unsatisfactory. The only upside is the convenient location.
