We spent a night in Setermoen while hiking the Nordkalottruta to deal with gear malfunctions (the sole of my husband's shoe fell off and stayed in the wonderful... read more We spent a night in Setermoen while hiking the Nordkalottruta to deal with gear malfunctions (the sole of my husband's shoe fell off and stayed in the wonderful Bardu hotel which was comfortable, spacious, and had fantastic food in the restaurant. Bonus: we could do laundry : . The owners and their son Peder went above and beyond to help us out. They pointed us to the local outdoor gear shop, Bardu Sports, which has a huge collection of very high quality hiking gear and a friendly and knowledgeable staff. Gunilla, who worked at the reception and restaurant of the hotel, made sure that we had everything we could ever wish for. Thank you all so much for all your help and a delightful stay! Ps. The hike up to Lappjordhytta along the canyon was amazing! PS2. We returned to Setermoen this past weekend to go fishing in Sjøvegan with Peder, the son of the owners. An absolutely amazing trip where we caught 50 kilos of fish! Peder explained all the ins and outs of fishing and shared lots of local information with us. We finished the trip with grilling the fish on the beach, truly superb day!
