OK it was mid January and very cold and very quiet. We really should have known but having got ourselves all comfortably seated I asked the waiter for some mussels . . . not available. I asked for the salmon . . . not available. He then informed us that no local food was available even though it was all displayed outside on the boards with no warnings as to unavailability. The reserve menu was nondescript, the steaks were tough and both cooked medium/well done when that was not what we had asked for. The burger was actually OK but at €16.50 it should be. The sardines were anything but fresh (which presumably as they were not local). The waiter was quite brusque and the woman at the till sensed we were not happy which I confirmed. On the very rare occasions that I sense a restaurant is going to be this bad I walk out. We were very cold and in company and to my regret I did not do so.
Although this restaurant has now changed its name to RestoQuai, we felt it was worth writing as we enjoyed a very good lunch with excellent service on the whole. The lady in charge was fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. Unfortunately, there was a slightly older lady who was not quite so accommodating and shall we say a little short-tempered, but for the price and the location, this was a great family lunch and we will definitely return on our next visit to Sete.
I was yesterday for the second time in this restaurant and I could not found confirmation for the bad reviews I saw on TRIPADVISOR. The fish I took this time Lotte in French) was fresh , tasty and associated with hacked mixed vegetables of excellent quality . It was part of a menu entry, main dish and dessert) for 15.90 €, I had worst plates for more money and that not only in France... Thus , next time in Sete , I will surely return to this restaurant, also because of the friendly way , he personnel behaved towards us
Well located, a bit crowded but we enjoyed good, friendly service, nice cold dishes for late lunch and enjoyed being just relaxed tourists in a nice area
Seemingly attractive from the street with well appointed terrace and interior, the food does not match up to the decor. Tasteless fish soup as a starter, disappointing mains which were only just warm. The apple tart and chocolate dessert were ordinary but acceptable. It was a busy evening and there was only one waitress for the entire restaurant.
