Marilou, a fisherman's daughter, shares with you some secrets of her Sétoise cuisine. Everything is wonderfully fresh at low prices, at least for real seafood products from the Ile Singulière. Very light fried foods, a real escabeche and other octopus salad... You can ask the owner for advice for a glass of wine in harmony with your meal. Marilou has character and so does her cuisine of course.

Big disappointment to hear ‘kitchen is closed and I won’t open now as we might run out of food tonight’. Fair to mention it was 10 min to 2pm, but other places are more relaxed about closing times, certainly this type of cuisine. Luckily Sète is very beautiful and there are plenty of friendly places with delicious food.

Spoke to the owner who seemed lovely, told us the best time to come back. We came back and were seated straight away. The staff (all 4-5 of them) then decided to ignore us for 2 hours. Like little children who didn't want to speak to the new kid in class. Literally would ask them what's going on and they would turn 180 degree, putting their back to you and not responding. Even tried to speak to the kitchen staff and when asked questions, they put their heads down and pretended they couldn't hear you! Eventually after wasting 2 hours of our lives we just got up and left. Waste of time!

Takeaway cutlery included plus fortune cookies. Highly recommended indeed, and us English customers know what we’re talking about when we review fish chips !!!
