Not sure why most of their vegan items as protein this and protein that. I guess they belong to the vegans need more protein camp. Good enough. I have a protein choc chip muffin because I do a lot on foot. I thought it was a supplement not a muffin. It was small, but good. This place is huge, but was empty. Too bad. Not sure why they use it. Two names. It's confusing. Please make sure you check what is vegan!! Most not. Updated by previous review on 2021-11-27
I decided to try some vegan protein baked goods at Looop as it was on the way to a training nearby. I tried the protein veggie bread roll, a protein chocolate muffin, a protein cinnamon roll and an icy pear ginger tea (not shown). The veggie roll tasted the best of the baked goods, but I wouldn't eat it again. The chocolate muffin tasted somewhat strange, but I needed some light with protein so I ate most of it. I took the cinnamon roll to go and tried to eat it later, but it really tasted awful, so I had only one bite. It was very bitter and left a bad aftertaste. I went to Looop for a second time to try one of the chilled cakes because I heard they taste better than the baked goods on the shelf. My friend and I tried a chocolate avocado brownie cake with some berries and we both agreed that it tastes bad. It had a strange almost metallic taste that is difficult to describe, but it was definitely not how to taste a vegan chocolate cake or brownie. We also tried the Orange Sunrise drink and unfortunately it did not taste well or fresh. At the counter there was a man I suspect was a kind of manager or owner and he made sure to warn me both times that the things that I would choose would taste different as they were vegan. I told him this was good with me, but after trying everything, I'm honestly very disappointed that it tasted so. I had so many delicious vegan breads and pastries in Seoul, but those in Looop were the worst I ever tried. I hope they consider changing recipes or something because I think vegan desserts can be delicious standard, and they should not warn customers that their vegan products taste different than non-vegan products. On the bright side, I appreciate that they clearly characterize all vegan and non-vegan products in their shop. It is also worth mentioning that they close pretty late at 2:00.
I like the idea of higher protein bread, but the macros on these are not good. some of the bread when eaten with no preparation have a weird texture and taste, but when air fried at home it makes a world of difference. the red bean bread was really good, but i didn’t like the corn one. the muffins are good but high calorie. i like how they tell you some macro info on the tags, and also you can find full nutrition info on their website. often get a free bread as service, which is nice. in a bakery with non vegan options so make sure to check you’re getting the right one!
The baked goods here are some of the worst things I've ever had in my life. To be fair, I never tried one of the coolers
I like the concept of higher protein bread, but the nutritional content of these breads is not great. Some of the breads, when eaten without toasting, have a strange texture and taste, but when toasted at home, they taste much better. The red bean bread was really good, but I didn't care for the corn bread. The muffins are tasty, but high in calories. I appreciate that they provide some macro information on the labels, and you can find full nutrition details on their website. They often include a free bread as a service, which is a nice touch. Just be aware that this bakery also offers non-vegan options, so make sure you choose the right one!
