Sunflower Cafe - Selkirk

I eat here on a regular basis and cn recommend it whole heartly!! Very good food and very friendly staff. Its just a great place to have a meal!!

We love this place and come here every time Hubby and I are in town the food is wonderful, and the service friendly. I can't say enough good things about this place. Just check it out for yourself.

Food is always well prepared and service is prompt and friendly. Daily specials keep interest to a small but well rounded menu.

We drove to Selkirk to hike the Wheeler's Trail in the provincial park, but due to recent rains, the trail was too muddy. Instead, we took a walk along Lakeshore to get some exercise. Afterward, we headed back to Selkirk for breakfast, as we had read a positive review about the restaurant last year and always enjoy eating out for breakfast. The service was good, the coffee was tasty, and the home-cooked food was satisfying. My husband usually orders his eggs over medium, and they were cooked perfectly this time. The bacon had a delicious smoky flavor. We had also heard about their delicious carrot cake, so we ordered two slices to go. Unfortunately, the carrot cake was a disappointment. It had a strange texture, almost like it was made with cornmeal, and lacked the typical spices found in carrot cake. It was also very dry. However, the cream cheese frosting was excellent. If we lived closer to Selkirk, we would definitely consider returning for breakfast, but we would pass on the carrot cake next time.

Great value and delicious food. The restaurant was bustling with customers enjoying breakfast and lunch options. The portions were generous and everything we tried was flavorful. The service was quick and the staff was friendly.
