What Not4meagain dislikes about Rhubarb:
This café does not accommodate solo diners. I noticed a table for two, but was told it was reserved. I was offered a table for six, but was informed that I could only have it for less than an hour. By the time I would have decided on my order and waited to be served, this limited time frame would not have been sufficient. There was no acknowledgment of the fact that I had traveled there and used petrol to get there.... View all feedback.

Booked Rhubarb for my mums 80th birthday celebration for 11 family and friends about 6 weeks previously. We pre-ordered all our food beforehand which made things easier for us and for the staff as it is ALWAYS busy in this little gem of a place. From the minute we arrived there early afternoon on a busy Saturday the staff were attentive and polite. We had a big table for 12 set up with plenty of space and not too cramped. The menu isn’t vast but it varied and there was something for everybody. Our party had a mixture of the afternoon teas, Yorkshire Slate, Steak Pie, quiches and cakes. Iced water in bottles was available on the tables for us. The place is also licenced so my 80yr old mum could enjoy her obligatory glass of wine with her meal! Dietary needs are also catered for. A friend had made my mums cake pictured and the staff were very happy to let me bring in mums cake and eat some of it there even though they do provide beautiful cakes themselves. Almost of the food here is home made and you can tell. All the cakes are made on site. Every bit of it was delicious!!! For 11 people with all our drinks etc the total bill came to £122! Unbelievable value. I cannot recommend this place enough!!! It’s only been open for 2 years and is a credit to the owners and don’t forget it’s attached to little garden centre/nursery as well . Will certainly be returning on a regular basis as I pass it en route to my mums house.. it would be rude not to !!

We went to this restaurant for lunch and it was very busy when we arrived at 1pm. There was only one table available for two people, so we took it. We had to wait a bit to be served, but the waitress explained that many people had come in all at once. We didn't mind waiting and took the time to look over the menu. I ordered the quiche of the day with salad and coleslaw, along with a pot of tea. The quiche was warm and delicious. My husband ordered the Ploughman's, which came with pork pie, sausage roll, three types of cheese, salad, pickle, ham, and a hunk of bread with butter. He also had a Latte to drink. We were too full to try the tempting cakes, but we did buy two fruit scones to take home, which were also delicious. The total cost was £21.60, including the scones, which we thought was great value for money. It was our first visit, but hopefully not our last. The restaurant is closed on Sundays and Mondays, but open from 10am to 3pm Tuesday to Saturday. They stop serving hot food at 2.30pm.
