Jacksons - Sefton
Jacksons
Description
Jackson’s Fish & Chips in Southport has garnered a reputation for its quality, with many praising its light, crispy batter and perfectly cooked chips. However, recent visits reveal a contrasting experience: complaints about rising prices, reduced portion sizes, and inattentive service have surfaced, leaving some long-time patrons disillusioned. While many rave about the fresh fish and cleanliness of the restaurant, others recount cold food and poorly executed dishes, indicating inconsistencies in the kitchen. For an establishment once celebrated, the divergence in dining experiences begs the question: Will Jackson’s balance its legacy with evolving standards?.

We last ate here 3 or 4 years ago and then stopped due to poor fish. We tried again and were impressed with the improvement. Fish was meaty and well cooked with not too much batter. Chips were a little soggy but I think that’s more down to personal taste. Will order again.
Brilliant. Had fish, chips and spicy curry sauce. Could not rate it any higher. All freshly cooked, as it should be, no fish sat in they heater waiting to be sold. Seen some of the reviews below and saying not so good. Maybe I was lucky but been on my own today and previously with partner and sat in the cafe style sitting area to the side of the restaurant and all good. Prices as expected, Fish, chips and curry sauce was £9.60.... thought good value as quality was great. Could have been expensive if quality was poor but for what I got, I was more than happy with that. Back soon for more!
Large mixed family group of us (8) visted on 11th April for lunch. Food was nice and hot but the stand out point is the welcome from the staff. What a friendly, happy crew. Thank you ladies. I might add that I thought it was...
Called in today on day trip to Southport. Really good fish and chips. Service great and very good attention to cleanliness and covid safety. Highly recommended.
