What User likes about The Compass Tavern:
I was staying (for work) at the premier inn across the road, who decided they couldn’t accommodate me for an evening meal. So I went across the road to this pub/restaurant and was totally blown away. LOTS of people were coming over from the hotel… but they coped fabulously. Very polite staff who managed to keep everyone happy. The food was delicious a fantastic menu as far as I was concerned, with a really good mix o... View all feedback. What ingusk2019 doesn't like about The Compass Tavern:
Charming place with exceptionally courteous service. Our order consisted of 3 identical steaks and a chicken curry. While 2 of the steaks were good, unfortunately, one fell short of our expectations due to the meat not being as tender as expected. As for the chicken curry, it was enjoyable, but the meat could have been a bit more tender. Considering our experience, we would rate it an average of 3.4 View all feedback.

read moreThe Compass, a quaint and character-filled pub, offers a charming atmosphere complemented by polite staff. While some patrons praised the friendly service and well-presented meals, experiences varied significantly. Feedback highlighted issues with food consistency, with certain dishes failing to meet expectations, along with slower service and stock shortages. Despite some enjoyable meals and positive ambiance, others expressed disappointment over quality and lack of attention during service. For those seeking a reliable dining experience, nearby options like the White Willow pub might be preferable. Overall, The Compass presents a mixed bag, leaving customers with varied impressions of their visits.
Shame the bar/pub closes so early, unbelievable at this time of year
