we were informed that the chef had suddenly left so that the menu was much reduced in scope. when we met a group of friends, we decided to go on. unfortunately was only another single person in the restaurant, but the one. owners could not have been more attentive, eating was excellent and there was a great selection of pizza toppings as well as burgers. the bar/restaurant is beautifully decorated and modern, I haven... We were in bridgwater and had to find somewhere to eat, but a bank holiday and the last day of eating to help schedule that we fought to find everywhere, not fully booked, we managed to get a table here and. After reading the reviews, we were happy to eat. what a disappointment, the restaurant was grubby, stained on the carpets, cling all over the stairs, we sat near the kitchen and there were bucks of dirty plates and over the food on the whole side, where the food was brought out, they had a reduced menu without steaks, the eating itself was terrible all very cheap, especially the chubby! the ketchup was in tubs and looked out and tasted as if he had been watered down with vinegar. No one asked if our food was proper, no one offered desert menus when we asked ourselves that it was either chocolate cake or lemon melissa nothing else, so that we have left a terrible experience and will not return.
I had a very nice lunch today with my mother and we were welcomed by friendly staff and the bar and food service that were given to us exceeded the 5 star rating that is given here by Trip Advisor. I would give at least...an 8 star rating. The food was delicious and healthy and the drinks were excellent too. I would visit again and I would recommend The Great Escape to anyone who visits our lovely historical town and to anyone who is local or not. The Great Escape is located near our main indoor shopping centre and off the main high street and was easy to find. A big thankyou to the staff there as well.
