What barnwood doesn't like about Andrea Mattia Alfresco:
Called in once again to give them a second chance. Didn't give a review before as it was so poor, words failed me. This time there was little improvement. The girl on the front could not care less if she served us or not. On paying I gave her my card and she just pointed to the notice partially covered , that they take cash only. What decade are they living in? The seating area was scruffy with plates and cups still... View all feedback.

The service was friendly and the food was freshly prepared, which we appreciated compared to chain restaurants. The café had a variety of delicious offerings at the deli counter, including cakes, pastries, paninis, and baguettes. The coffee was hot and full of flavor. The café has a gazebo front and outdoor seating, which would be nice in the summer. Overall, this café was a great alternative to chain restaurants. We had no complaints and will definitely visit again on our next shopping trip. We encourage others to support this local establishment or give it a try during their visit.
My husband, two friends, and I recently stopped by this restaurant for lunch. My husband and I had dined here before and recommended it to our friends as a great lunch spot. None of us were disappointed. Three of us ordered paninis, while my friend's husband went for the 12 oz burger which was massive and came with onion rings. We all shared the fries and enjoyed our meals, as well as the experience of the American decor and music. The restaurant always maintains high standards, with spotless bathrooms and friendly waitstaff. This was our third visit at different times of the year and we have always had a great experience. We look forward to visiting again on our next trip to Devon. We love it.
My sister and I arrived at Andrea Mattio in Clarks Village at 11am for coffee and cake. The server was unfriendly and unhelpful, telling us there was no cake available. When I questioned why we couldn't have the cake displayed on the counter, he rudely said it was just for show and he was too busy to serve us. Needless to say, we won't be returning to this restaurant.
This is the cafe next to the perfume shop in Clark's Village. Stopped to grab a sandwich for my son, a couple of drinks and some crisps. I had already paid before they made the baguette for my son. My wife saw them start to make the baguette from disgusting looking butter and slimy wet ham. She asked them to leave it and we asked for a refund. The staff were extremley rude and ignorant and said they needed to get a manager to authorise the refund. I said fine and they both began muttering to each other in non-English but were clearly being rude to us. The manager was even worse, she refused at first to issue the refund for the 2 drinks and 2 bags of crisps even though they were back on the shelf untouched. She said she did not want them and waved her hand at me like she was shoeing a fly away. I told her not to wave her arms at me and be so rude and because the quality of their food was poor we would have a refund and go elsewhere. Eventually she grudgingly did the refund but i have never been treated so rudely. We went to the pasty shop instead and that was excellent and the staff were lovely. This is the reason why we usually stick with the bigger chains like costa, starbucks, subway etc. At least you generally get good service and decent food. AVOID
Came to the Lakeside Village branch today with my partner for a quick bite to eat before he started work. We always thought the food smelt lovely whenever we visited Lakeside and fancied giving it a try despite the steep prices, but what a disappointment. First of all, the young lad who served us wore a white shirt with his neck covered in love bites, with no attempt to cover them. Obviously what people do in their own time is their own business, but it made the business look so unprofessional. Secondly, at £3.40 for a bacon sandwich and £4.60 for a “posh” hot dog (a sausage in a soggy baguette bun), you’d have expected top quality bread and meat. My first bacon sandwich had green mould on the side, so I got a careless “sorry” and a replacement that wasn’t much better. I could not describe the “bacon” in the sandwich other than what tasted like tasteless cooked ham with fat on it. My partner and I ended up going for a Greggs for half the price and better quality. Please, save your money and taste buds.
