Mixed reviews reflect the diverse experiences of patrons at Pier 106 Seafood Tavern. Some diners left disappointed, noting issues such as overcooked pasta, small portion sizes, and lackluster flavor. Others, however, praised the restaurant for its great service, exceptional food, and lovely ambiance. The outdoor patio with a pond and lily pads was particularly highlighted as a soothing and private dining space. I asked the librarians at the public library for a restaurant that represents Sebastopol, and they recommended this place. While the restaurant's style isn't really my cup of tea—since I typically don’t spend much on food—I appreciate that it focuses on farm-to-table meals. The food was enjoyable, but it did take a while to prepare. I was also a bit disappointed with the portion size given the price. This place was worth a try, but it’s not really my style. Additionally, the 20% automatic tip felt a bit excessive for me.
I recently moved to Sebastopol and decided to check out a local restaurant for lunch. The venue is pleasant, and the staff is very friendly, but the prices and tipping policy are quite outrageous. We spent $70 on two sandwiches and two glasses of wine. While the food was flavorful, the small portion sizes certainly don't justify the cost. Additionally, the bill included a mandatory 20% tip, plus sales tax. It's a bit of a scam, and I won't be returning unless changes are made. I suggest either increasing the portion sizes or lowering the prices—ideally both. Also, please consider removing the mandatory tip; instead, pay your workers a living wage and let customers decide how to reward good service.
The menu was outstanding, and the food was perfectly prepared. However, the service was disappointing. Our server either forgot our requests or took a long time to return with what we needed. Perhaps focusing less on distractions and more on attentiveness would have improved the experience.
You can taste the fresh ingredients. When we walked into the restaurant I knew we were in for something special and it was delicious
