This is the kind of restaurant that may not have thrived if it weren't for its location. When visiting, keep in mind that it's situated in the midst of a campground and rental properties close to the beach. When we visited, there were many families and children, so if the weather permits, opt for an outdoor table since the indoor area can be noisy and not particularly cozy. The food is average and a bit too spicy for many palates. The nachos were enjoyable, and the pasta dishes tend to be the standout on the menu. They offer good beer and cocktails as well. If you keep your order simple, you're likely to have a better experience.
After a long 10-hour car ride, we were in search of a place to eat, but nothing was open at 8:00. That's when we stumbled upon this hidden gem, and we couldn't be happier! The food was fantastic. The Crab Rangoons were delicious, and the Blueberry Lemonade cocktails were a delightful treat. Our waitress, Bailey, was incredibly helpful and attentive. We can't wait to return and explore more of your menu!
--- **Atmosphere: 5/5** The ambiance of the restaurant is simply outstanding. The decor is beautifully designed, creating a warm and inviting environment. The lighting is perfect, setting just the right mood for an enjoyable dining experience. Overall, the atmosphere contributes significantly to the overall charm of this establishment. --- Let me know if there are any other specific changes you would like!
I mentioned to the waitress that we couldn’t eat it, and she responded, “You can definitely order something else in addition to that. Do you want a box to take it home?” I repeated that we couldn’t eat it, but she seemed unwilling to take it back. While she was happy to add something else to our bill, she made it clear that we would still be charged for the pizza we ordered. I’ve never sent anything back in my life, but this rather unfriendly waitress wasn’t going to allow it. “It says right in the description it has the habanero sauce,” she insisted. Well, thanks a lot, SKK. From now on, I guess it’s Fryes Leap Cafe for us.
Sportsman's was walking distance from our cottage, so we visited a couple times; once for late food and once for late drinks. It was a hopping place, always, especially considering the area. Food and service were good. Decent sized place with chairs, fire pits and a (seasonal) bar outside.
