This is such an elegant hideaway from the hustle and bustle of the market and waterfront. A bit pricier than some places, but excellent drink menu and entrees are of high quality. Worth climbing the stairs and spending an hour or two. The happy hour menu shaves a buck or two off the regular menu, so don’t expect a deeper discount. Excellent knowledgeable service. Attentive.

For our appetizers, we tried the hush puppies. They were delightful, although perhaps a touch oversalted. For the main courses, I ordered the Smoky Beet Tartar, which turned out to be a bit different from what I expected. The smokiness overpowered the beet flavor at first, but it grew on me as I continued eating it. My boyfriend chose the duck tostada, which was flavorful and well-seasoned. Lastly, I tasted the bread pudding. I have a soft spot for bread pudding, but I wouldn’t choose this one again. The flavor was quite mild, and the accompanying sauce was rather bland as well. Overall, I enjoyed the atmosphere and appreciated the unique menu offerings. I would definitely return, and our waitress was absolutely lovely!

My wife and I stumbled upon this restaurant while exploring downtown on a casual Thursday night. The cocktails were fantastic, the whiskey selection was impressive, and the food we tried was delightful. You definitely need to order the hush puppies—they're a must! We can't wait to return soon.

Top line: Only come with 5 or less people. Had a bday party of 16ppl. Big crew for sure. Drinks and food were good and I’d say came out quickly. We had a rude waiter though. He’s tall and has an ear piercing. If you have him expect to feel dismissed. When the check came we asked if it can be split and he said “no” and just walked away. No pleasantries. Other things happened but won’t put it here. Didn’t leave feeling great and just annoyed. Auto-gratuity was added (fully understand it should be added for such a large party) but he did not deserve it. Anyway, come with a crew bc it’s good vibes, but not such a big crew that auto-gratuity is added (6+ ppl). Food: 4 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: $50–60

Zig Zag cafe is nice. The menu has a.some great range and offers something for everyone. I tried th Eggs, Oysters and the Steak. Each were strong for sure. Id say the local oysters were a hit and that flat iron steak was awesome. So beefy. Came with broccolini, spuds, and Onions. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5
