Spicy Tan Tan and Veg Shoyu is must must try! Their broth were mild spicy but full of flavour!
This place is good! The ambience is casual but cosy. They have dishes on their menu that you don't get at other Japanese restaurants in the vicinity. The flavors are very mild, but worth trying. The vegetarian croquettes we're good, they could havegiven more ponzu on the side. The kakiage rice bowl was delicious, perfect large onion and veggie tempura with a mild mushroomscallion broth. Extremely mild flavor. Prices can be lower for the ambience and quantity.
Wonderful place for a lunch all by myself! The JoJo en Teishoku ?? was really good! The beef was tender and flavorful with the sauce, and came in a good portion. The other small dishes were also good and subtle in their flavors. Nothing was overcooked, and everything was just delicious. The place is close to the Lake union and fun to walk over.
Great underrated local place. It's reasonably priced and the food is awesome. We came in last night for a ramen craving and got the duck ramen and garlic miso tonkotsu ramen specials. Both delicious, but I especially like the garlic miso tonkotsu: Broth was rich without feeling greasy and the noodles were perfectly cooked. We were stuffed. Not crowded at all (we came from Capitol Hill where all the ramen joints had a two hours wait time to be seated), easy to find parking on a quiet street, and the chef seemed pretty passionate about his work. Ignore all the wannabe food critics lol (we don't need more Pete Wells's in the world), the food is just plain good for the soul.
The wait was so long and our food didn't come out at the same time. I'm not talking about a couple minute difference but like 10 min difference. I think they were short staff but wish they gave us a little apology for the wait. The ramen itself was good! The soup broth you can taste the duck and the soup is light and clean. The pork was such a nice texture and melted in your mouth. This isn't ramen with a bunch of toppings, it's more simple and straight forward. Egg is extra though.
