The cocktails are reasonably priced and expertly made. The food has renewed my faith in Mexican cuisine in Seattle. I hope this place stays around for a long time.

Great s... read more Likes: The space is chic and spacious. Chips and salsa were stellar and the powder they coat the chips in is amazing. The mushroom tacos were delicious. Great service tops off a good meal--taste wise. Dislikes: They could fit their 10 page menu onto 3 pages. The chip bowl came with a stingy 12 chips and I was still a little hungry after eating 3 smallish tacos. The horchata tasted like it wasn't home made and the ikea wall decal was a bit tacky. Overall the food was great and the ambiance is a nice addition to 15th.

However, last night at Sur 16, I had esquites, c... read more We stopped visiting Mexican restaurants in the USA a long time ago because we found the food lacking in flavor. However, last night at Sur 16, I had esquites, chiles rellenos, ceviche, and churros with cajeta, and WOW—it couldn’t be more authentic! Don’t expect chimichangas or burritos here. If you’re looking for a genuine Mexican dining experience, this is the place to go. I felt like I was having dinner in my mother’s dining room! The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and it’s a family-run business that I’m sure will be a great success!
