visit owl 'n thistle because we read about the music. we are too early to participate in it, but it wasn't even important. good food and our waitress heather was fabulous! we had a great talk with her about why she moved to seattle and what we wanted to see during our visit. we even heard a small tour through the restaurant and its history. Previously, when I lived over the street! would sit with my old pooch at my side in the back and have the happy hour soft fish tacos! great value and tasty! since this was in the worst days of covid, I was always happy to find a place away from the room and bar to take a little break from the isolation. my sheila girl died last januar, and she enjoyed the riders so much! Excellent pub farewell in an old-fashioned atmosphere. I'm afraid I went there for lunch, but I'd like to stay for the happy hour. The food is your average pub fare, quite fresh and well made. I have some fish and chips that meet the right place, with a local pint to accompany it, worth it. Service was super affable (kudos to Kimberly! and prompt. All in all, an excellent pub.
Really great pub. I would say this place has something for most with a cozy livingroom style area, an intimate stage space, and a pool table and darts. Missed the kitchen both times we went here, but the bartender was friendly and we enjoyed our time here.
I attended a reception here. This place has a great ambiance and is a Seattle institution. I has some of their delicious chicken wings and an IPA. This is in the alley right behind 1st ave. It's a great location. I highly recommend the owl n' thistle for a after work beer if you work, visit or live in downtown.
This was a lucky find on a freezing Saturday afternoon! The prices are fantastic and so is the food. We tried the Fish and Chips and were not disappointed. The Clam Chowder has a wonderful flavor. The only food that was just alright was the corn beef sandwich. The atmosphere is very comfortable and unique. We would make this a regular place if we lived in the state.
A cool spot tucked away on post alley, which means it's usually a little more relaxed than other places downtown. The tap list doesn't rotate much, but always has some good beers, and the fish and chips is unbeatable, especially with happy hour pricing.
