Description

A bright, beautifully designed neighborhood café earns praise for expertly roasted coffee, skilled baristas, friendly service and a cozy, work‑friendly vibe. Pastries, seasonal drinks and house beans for sale round out a pleasant menu at reasonable prices, plus a loyalty punch card. Caveats include limited parking and occasional customers blocking a narrow one‑lane street, no restrooms, a few inconsistent bakery items and packaging/labeling issues with beans; one reported contamination incident was promptly remedied. Overall, a welcoming local spot for coffee lovers and remote workers.

Umbria feels like an Italian cafe in the best way- the espresso counter and tall tables for a quick drink, then a seating area just on the other side of the wall for those who want to sit back and relax. The cafe sits on a sleepy street with plenty of outdoor seating. They have many different food options, though I’m partial to the piadina containing spicy salami and arugula. Their coffee is good! Is there better coffee in the square? Probably, if you’re really into pour over and specialty coffee- but Umbria is open early and makes a mean cappuccino. Their standard espresso is good and their baristas are talented. I highly recommend Caffe Umbria for coffee dates and early morning breakfast. I'm constantly on the lookout for cozy little cafes that serve great coffee instead of heading to Starbucks. I have to admit, I often find myself thinking, “Eh, not as good as Starbucks.” However, this place is a delightful exception. The coffee was fantastic. We tried a mocha and a seasonal fall drink, and both were absolutely delicious.

After a long flight from my hometown, I enjoyed a latte made with low-fat milk. The friendly staff and delicious coffee really helped me feel refreshed. I didn’t try any food, but it looked absolutely wonderful. If I get the chance to return, I’ll definitely sample some dishes. It’s a cozy spot to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee.
