This is such a cute spot!!! Very Instagram-able, vegan and vegetarian friendly, with AMAZING brunch! I've driven past this restaurant so many times on the way to the arboretum and I'm so glad I finally got to check it out. Don't get me wrong, I love meat, but they really delivered on flavor and experience with their vegetarian dishes. I tried the tofu scramble instead of eggs and was really impressed. What Greta Bruen dislikes about Cafe Flora:
The vegan options they have are good enough, but this place is a little too dairy and egg reliant for 2020. Why go to a veg restaurant with only 1/2 the menu available for vegans? Might as well just stick with Plum when looking for a nicer meal in this price range. View all feedback.
Lovely spot for a birthday brunch. The wait wasn't too long and all the service was excellent!
Really lovely spot! The interior is well decorated, the staff was friendly, and I appreciated and valued how this establishment is opening trans affirming and welcoming! The food was sooo good and I’m not vegetarian or vegan! Loved the frittata with cheese grits, my partner got the biscuits and gravy which were tasty too. We had a cinnamon roll as well that was perfect. The coffee is strong! Highly recommend.
Big lines dealt with by an efficient and pleasant host, but once sitting the service was hurried and barely interactive. The food was bland and took forever. Nothing was unique for the price of everything it should be fresher ingredients (or at least add some greenery next to an omelette). I will say the homemade jam and homemade ketchup was a nice touch.
Great vibe of the place. 30min waiting while we shopped at Kitchen Market nearby so not bad. Service: Not up to the mark onion rings were over, not swapped for some fries on request. Also we were celebrating a birthday but the server didn't care to wish or be kind/friendly in general. Food: The Mediterranean platter of Fava bean and other dips was really very good. The fried mushrooms on the waffles were tooo fried. The waffles themselves were pretty good. The tomato starter which literally just fried tomatoes they should just take that off the menu it was so bad. And partially I blame ourselves for ordering it we were just intrigued to see how such simple ingredients can make a good dish. But epic fail. Strawberry cocktail was okay too nothing exceptional. Overall half the items were good. Maybe we went in with a lot more expectations and were celebrating so were a bit let down. But the place def has potential, so we might give it another shot.
Cafe Flora exudes a wonderful vibe with its stunning decor, creating a truly inviting atmosphere. While the service was a bit slow, it wasn’t a major issue for us. However, the food didn’t quite live up to expectations. The black bean burger, though flavorful, was marred by the kimchi slaw placed directly on the patty, which made it a bit soggy. The drinks tasted good, although there was a mix-up with our order—we asked for a mimosa with lemonade but received plain lemonade instead.
