Reviews summary
Located conveniently in University Village, The Nguyen Dynasty stands out for its vibrant atmosphere and delightful Vietnamese cuisine. Guests rave about the cocktails—particularly the local gin-based drinks—as well as unique appetizers like the flavorful wings. While the pho is generally good, some diners feel there are better options elsewhere. The menu offers a variety of options, including a well-received imperial combo and vermicelli dishes. Service is prompt and friendly, although some suggest improvements in staff enthusiasm. With reasonable prices and a welcoming ambiance, it's an ideal spot for a casual outing or special dinner date.

This is a lovely spot to enjoy delicious Vietnamese food and drinks with friends. It's conveniently located at a corner of University Village and much easier to access than the SLU location. I had a fantastic time. Food: 5/5 View all feedback.
What Makayla Kent dislikes about Ba:
The Nguyen Dynasty was delicious. Well balanced drink made with local gin.The eggplant was not my thing but coworker said it was delicious.Got the vegetarian pho. The broth was light and not quite as earthy as expected. The chili oil on the side helped with adding some flavor. Coworker got the duck pho, seemed to enjoy the flavors. It was a nice experience. But favorite thing about the night was the drink. View all feedback.

Waiter is very forgetful. Forgot about my coffee until I reminded him. Placed an order for the Pandan Cake and it was available at the time of order. However, we we were told it was sold out because someone had taken it. Otherwise, the rest of the experience was pretty good. We ordered Tofu,Seaweed, cabbage salad. It's ok but I would prefer their crispy imperial roll the next time. We ordered Sai Gon chicken wings. Would have preferred that to be unsweetened and perhaps a bit peppery/salty. The Pho was fantastic because the beef was tender and soup was flavorful. It also comes with Chinese donut for you to dip in the soup.Parking: Parking at U Village is a nightmare.
Love getting the beef pho with tendon always. The broth has a deep flavor and the rice noodles are always fresh. The tendon melts in your mouth!Food: 4/5
The restaurant offers excellent service, is well-maintained, and has attractive decor. We ordered the Hanoi pho and the combo vermicelli. If you're a seasoned fan of Vietnamese cuisine, you might find that the portion sizes here are somewhat smaller and priced higher than usual. Interestingly, the Hanoi broth, which is generally lighter and less sweet than Saigon pho, was actually sweeter and had a more earthy flavor profile. The vermicelli was quite delicious, and the variety of proteins included—chicken, shrimp, pork sausage, and pork imperial roll—were all very flavorful. What truly elevated the dish was the fish sauce, which added a fantastic depth of taste. Additionally, being located at U Village, there are plenty of parking options available, including garages.

It was raining, good pho night. It is pricy but nicer normal pho. The brisket and round beef were good, not tough, soup has good flavor. They do use MSG. The service was good, waited 15 mins for table. It is not as authentic but don’t expect to be.
Love this spot for cocktails! The food is good, but I wish there was a bit more variety. Maybe they just don't have all my favorite Vietnamese foods... Cocktails are
I took my wife out for a dinner date for the first time in two years, and I was a bit nervous about it. However, she truly deserved a special night out, and it felt like the right time to go. The staff wore masks and even kindly encouraged us to wear them when moving through the main dining area to the outdoor covered section. It was the first day after the mask mandate was lifted, and it was clear that both our safety and theirs were their top priorities. Once we were outside, there were heat lamps, and the tables were spaced comfortably apart. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, especially considering the ongoing COVID situation. I recognize that not every restaurant can create this kind of atmosphere, but for those that can, it’s worth it. By taking these precautions, businesses can attract patrons like us who are still being cautious.
Nice ambience and services, the Pho a bit on the bland while portions and fillings are as expected, springrolls are delicious and crispy.
Their pho is very good, but if pho is what you want there are any number of places that do it better. That said, there's plenty of unique dishes and drinks that are great here. My table split an order of their wing appetizer. The wings were small but very tasty. For my entree, I ordered the imperial combo pictured below. It tasted as amazing as it looks. I had a hard time picking what I wanted because all the photos on the menu looked so good. Overall my table was very pleased with their dishes. Service was also very friendly and prompt
