Wow, I’m truly amazed after returning to Kona Grill after 20 years and having such a fantastic experience. It wouldn't have been possible without the general manager, Crystal D., who made me feel incredibly welcomed. I can’t wait to bring my clients here, and I always write honest reviews. My friends and I recently visited Arizona for a tattoo convention, and this restaurant exceeded our expectations! I ended up ordering quite a bit of food to sample. The tomato basil bisque as an appetizer was fantastic—rich and full of flavor. I also tried two sushi rolls: the Las Vegas roll and the coconut shrimp roll. The Las Vegas roll was a bit different from what I anticipated, but still delicious. The coconut shrimp roll, on the other hand, was outstanding! For my main course, I had the cilantro lime chicken, which was simply divine. The chicken was juicy and packed with flavor, served over rice and broccoli. My husband opted for the BBQ chicken flatbread and loved it too. Their drinks were delightful; I had a refreshing cucumber mint cocktail (though I can't recall the exact name). Our waitress was incredibly helpful and very polite, promptly refilling our drinks. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience!

I highly recommend this spot for anyone seeking a weekend brunch in the Oldtown Scottsdale area. The variety on their menu is impressive, and the fact that everything tastes amazing is even more astonishing. I absolutely loved the Spicy Lobster Avocado Toast; the spicy lobster mix just melts in your mouth, topped with a fried quail egg and hollandaise sauce. The Kona Loco was another favorite—jasmine rice sautéed with shiitake mushrooms and onions, served with seared Spam, a beef patty, and a fried egg, all combining for a truly unique flavor. They also offer some interesting flavored mimosas. I can't wait to visit this place again soon!
I like dropping into Kona for lunch and drinks. It's usually very consistently good. They have a great happy hour menu and I've always ordered sushi when I visit and haven't tried anything else there. They have a few unique roll options as well as the standards. The patio at this location is strangely placed in an underpass out of the sun leading to the mall parking and entrance. My latest visit they were pretty busy and didn't have the staff to keep up, but they were all working hard and were pleasant. It's a nice atmosphere and worth checking out if you haven't been yet.
First of all, Bethany, our waitress was sooo amazing! She was personable, professional, funny, and easy to talk to. She also gave recommendations on the menu. We hope to have her next time we go. Our food was so good too! We had the Kona calamari and the BBQ chicken Flatbread and the margarita flight. Everything was good! The atmosphere is really nice too. Great for all occasions. I would say its kid friendly until a certain time because it just has an adult feel/vibe. Try it!
