While some rave about the exceptional food, atmosphere, and service, others were underwhelmed by overcooked steaks and high prices. The standout items include the ginger margarita, cheese fritter appetizer, peppercorn sauce, shrimp cocktail, and Caesar salad. Despite some service mishaps, many patrons praise the warm reception, live entertainment, and stunning views. Overall, the restaurant excels in some areas but falls short in others, making it a hit-or-miss dining destination depending on individual experiences.
We had a fabulous evening at J&G. We are on 3 and a half week road trip through the south west to celebrate my 59th birthday and had chosen J&G for our ‘slap up’ birthday dinner and are so glad we did thanks to all at J&G for making it so memorable. Service was impeccable throughout and special thanks to our server (apologies for not remembering his name he’s the former Grand Canyon rim to rim runner! for great wine recommendations and for ensuring our steaks and scallops were cooked perfectly to our liking. The combination of the killer sunset views, perfectly pitched live music, attentive service and some of the best steakhouse food we have eaten in the States (and we’ve previously eaten at many landmark restaurants in both the North East and Texas made for a perfect evening. If we’re ever lucky enough to visit Scottsdale again we’ll definitely be back thanks again.
Such an amazing experience and Mother’s Day. Hands down the best staff/hospitality that I’ve ever had in Phoenix since living here. 10/10
I had an outstanding experience during my visit to this restaurant. Every aspect of it was exceptional. The hostess greeted us warmly, the bartenders were helpful and friendly, the wait staff was efficient, provided great recommendations, and was very attentive. Even the support staff, previously known as bussers, were polite and attentive. Without a doubt, this is the best-run establishment I have ever been to. The management team is doing an excellent job. And then there's the chef. His attention to detail in every aspect is truly impressive. The rest of the staff speak highly of his talent in selecting cuts of meat. Every dish we ordered was absolutely amazing. This may have been the best meal I've ever had.
The restaurant offers amazing views and a scrumptious dinner! I recommend starting with the tuna tartare, and the steak and sea bass were thoroughly enjoyed (especially if you like seafood with a bit of spice). The chocolate cake is a perfect size for dessert. The staff was very friendly and professional, providing excellent recommendations. This restaurant is perfect for a romantic date night.
We were staying at this place and they recommended the restaurant to us, so we decided to give it a try. We are not very picky eaters, but I would not recommend dining here. The $300 we spent was not worth it, and we ended up leaving feeling hungry. The lobster was slimy and cold, the mac and cheese was subpar, and the French onion soup was inedible. The service was okay. I would suggest going elsewhere if you do not want to waste your money. It is unfortunate because the restaurant and resort are beautiful, and we enjoyed everything else about our stay.
