What User doesn't like about Ochiltree's Dining:
We arrived at this establishment 3:20 last Wednesday to be grumpily sternly told by the gentleman who greeted us that they closed in 2 minutes. We were shown to our seats with menus abruptly told it's coffees only, he stood again...sternly abruptly asked what we wanted, we ordered our drinks asked about a cake/traybakes to once again be grumpily told it's coffees only!!!! Where do I start? on the rather large etched dog and words "hounds welcome" on their window? or the numerous signs that confirm dogs are allowed in or the inviting water dishes? what I experienced today was so disgusting that I will never be there again, I will. also advise my friends who regularly go and do not return this caffe after their monthly dachshund walks! 2 young ladies and I suspect that her mother was with her rather charming miniature dam dog for mother's day. they were directed by a polite male server on their table, which came next, was a scandal. they were busy eating their food when a woman I now know is the managerin (india) came up, begrubbed at them to put their tiny little dog on the floor, as there are numerous complaining about it on the young lady I could add was not to eat and sat well back from the table. the male server then passed and was stopped and I heard her ask whether the dog was given up or not, he confirmed that it was absolutely nice to sit on her knee as long as she was back from the table and did not cause any trouble I could add when she was on the floor, she was quite upset because of the coworker constantly jumping over this shy little dog. what happened next was annoying! india marched over again, asked the dog to be put on the floor, then fled from the screaming and brought some unnecessary attention to her table by cheating: I am a monster, I am such a bad woman, I am so terrible and other extremes! she also announced that the abbotsford should stay at the bottom of the caffeine due to numerous complaining. unbelievably rude, insane, disgusting behavior that had embarrassed the young ladies and had decanted and omitted their drinks in withdrawal cups! oh, what a lovely mother's day that the woman must have today! Why they didn't stop and go earlier I can only assume that her mother didn't hold the special day out of doubt, but I saw her sitting in the toilet quite badly later! Oh yes, please come to a dog friendly caffe, pay for those who will soon be parked and treated like something they have done! indien and the staff (apart from the young blonde lad, which was absolutely wonderful, I can add) must be bagged pronto before they get rid of more customers. I'd rather sit outside in the pouring rain with a coffee from the horse box than hit back foot! also the creamtee looked like a chimps tee party, the sponges were crumble and disintegrate on the plate, so bad I overheard a waitress say she wouldn't charge on the sponge. I'm waiting for basil from the kitchen. the personal who tries to serve the cake stands like puzzles, sprinting over the room, relaxing was definitiw not happened in there today and the floor was a scandal! They would not see any dog hair for the lumps of cake, crust out sandwiches and other rubbish on the floor! in the did, this is likely why these young ladies do not want their little dog on the floor incase it ate a bit forward! this caffe could have actually had a fairly large animal bill! greasy spoon and high school canteen sources to think. dog lovers do yourself a fallen and avoid costing to all, this facility is diabolical, enough you said!
I booked the afternoon as a Mother's Day treatment, we all thought it was excellent. the staff was rushed by the feet, but could not have failed the service. personal all politely helpful. would recommend.
Booked for Mother's Day very bad service. menu not too much and gloomy lack of choice . chips over boiled and dry. and cake simply thrown on a dish. not good.
We have just had a beautiful afternoon tea the staff were lovely and very attentive we will come back another time when visiting this area.
