It was very, very fine! We had venison pepper and venison slices with spaetzli and autumn vegetables. The portions are large. It's very homely, typical AR. We will come back soon. View all feedback.
Located in the very centre of Schönengrund, Restaurant Ochsen offers traditional Appenzeller food at moderate prices. The plain wooden dining room boasts a relaxed and uncomplicated atmosphere, in which I enjoyed a delicious lunch. Thumbs up to the waitress Karin for the genuinely friendly service. As starter I had the lamb’s lettuce salad served with eggs and speck generous and tasty portion. As main course I chose a local specialty: ‘’Appenzeller Siedwurst’’ (boiled sausage), traditionally served with cheese spaetzle and roasted onions. It proved delicious. Prices remain at usual Swiss level. I will gladly come back.
Efficient service despite many guests, excellent food and the boss personally comes to the table to ask how it tasted! The birthday “chind” gets a schnapps at the end. We'd love to come back!
That day was the boss chop advertised, I was traveling with a small group and we sat down in the nice beer garden in the evening. I had the chef chop. In short, tastes very good, looks very good. The price was right. The sauce and croquettes were extra. According to the statement, the dish with rösti and egg also tasted very good.
Best meat in the area Is butcher and restaurant both. Great service and affordable. Awesome place to go. !
Der beste Metzger schlachtet noch selbst, verwendet lokales Fleisch und arbeitet sehr professionell.
