After the Kanne had several different chefs or tenants/owners in recent years, and the general consensus was that it wasn 't worth going there, we went a few mo... read more After the Kanne had several different chefs or tenants/owners in recent years, and the general consensus was that it wasn 't worth going there, we went a few months ago on the recommendation of a Schönaich innkeeper, and lo and behold, the previously much-maligned pizza was fantastic! Thin crust, cooked through but not dry, excellent toppings, hot, large, and great value for money. The service was friendly and attentive, depending on how busy it was. Second and third visits – each time just for pizza and soup – were also good. The minestrone wasn 't quite to my liking – it could be better. The house soup was great – I have no idea what was in it. I 'd gladly go again. I can 't comment on the other dishes besides pizza and soup. It would be nice, however, if the worn furniture were replaced. The benches, at least, have the patina of at least 15 years. It just looks shabby. The outdoor area could also use an update – but I 'm sure the landlord has a say in that. Since the house was built in 1980, everything here seems to have remained the same....

(Pizza Capricciosa and Spaghetti alla Carbonara)
